If you're looking for an end of year activity (aside from showing movies) or an enrichment activity, here's a great article from the Washington Post. It could make for a great class debate over how to recognize even the not-so-nice parts of our history.

Nice. I enjoyed using this in class today. The students enjoyed it as well, and it gave them a good opportunity to draw on what they had learned this year. Sadly, none of them were aware of the story. They all wanted to know what the President chose to do on Memorial Day.
